Here’s the schedule for the fall semester showcases. Please note that many showcase times and days of the week will deviate from the standard class schedule. Make allowances now so that students will be present.
All Fall showcases are free of charge, but we strongly recommend reservations for the Studio Showcase. For each Studio showcase performance, there are only ~3 seats per show per student actor, so reserve early with the Walden administrative office 502.589.0084 or email.
10:00am to around 11:00am
Improv showcase runs shorter than the normal class time, and it’s a tradition among Improv parents to bring breakfast treats or some other goodie to share. Kids and parents can snack throughout the show, and it’s a great way to build the fun of this semester-end event. Walden Theatre provides coffee and juice, so don’t worry about donuts making you thirsty!
STUDIO: (RESERVATIONS RECOMMENDED, call 589-0084 or email)
December 12 & 14
Students will have tech rehearsal from 4:30-6:30pm (same time as class as usual) followed by a dinner break before final prep before the performance. STUDENTS SHOULD BRING A MEAL! Studio directors will let students know very soon whether they’re performing on both days, Wednesday only, or Friday only. Parents must let us know as soon as possible if one or the other date will not work.
December 11 & 13
There is a REQUIRED TECH REHEARSAL Monday December 10 from 4:30-6:30pm. Call time for actors before each performance is 6pm. All apprentice students will appear both nights of the showcase, so please plan accordingly.
Plays from this year’s New Voices Playwriting class will be read on stage by Conservatory actors in the Walden Theatre AltSpace on the 2nd floor. Don’t miss this first-ever stage reading of this semester’s playwrights!
The 2013 graduating seniors will present this annual mix of hysterical, irreverent, and sometimes profanity-strewn scenes for their Walden peers, friends, fellow actors, and those family members who can take a bit of craziness. Honestly, it is aways a fun night watching the seniors take it to 11. Just don’t bring the little ones. 🙂
