Auditions for Shakespeare Festival 2015

We’re auditioning Shakespeare’s Henry IV, Parts 1 & 2 plus George Farquhar’s The Beaux’ Stratagem. Here are the dates and all the info you need for a good audition. Students currently enrolled in the Conservatory at the Studio level and above are eligible.

Henry IV Parts 1 & 2

  • Jan 26 from 3:30-6 & 6:30-8:00
    Jan 27 from 6:30-8:30
    Callbacks Jan 28 6:30-8:30

Find a partner, choose from one of the provided sides (Poins and Hal, Lady Percy and Hotspur, Henry IV and Warwick, Silence and Shallow; see Julane for a copy), rehearse the side with your partner (memorization not required, but be highly prepared by knowing what you’re saying and make CHOICES!), sign up for a time both of you can attend (and arrive early).

Actors will be cast to play roles in both productions. Most actors will play multiple roles. PLEASE REVIEW THE REHEARSAL CALENDAR to make sure you don’t have conflicts before committing.

The Beaux’ Stratagem

  • Jan 24 from 2:00-6:00
    Jan 27 from 6:00-9:00
    Callbacks: Jan 28 from 6:30-9:00

See Hallie for a side BEFORE the audition date. Have your monologue prepared for audition day. The play will use a British dialect, so please make an attempt to use one in the audition. We aren’t looking for perfection, just COMMITMENT!

Walden Theatre remounts the William Shakespeare romance Pericles, Prince of Tyre as part of Kentucky Shakespeare’s Community Partners portion of their annual Festival in Old Louisville’s Central Park.

Here’s a bit about the play:

A Greek prince fleeing an evil king sails the seas in this tale of triumphant rescues, beautiful maidens, and great personal tragedy. Will determination, wit, and divine intervention see the prince’s family restored to him?

The play is on the C. Douglas Ramey Stage at Central Park August 6, 8, and 10. Pre-show fun and entertainment begins at 7:15, and Pericles begins at 8:00pm. All shows are free, but donations are encouraged and drinks are available.

See you at the park!
